NGHP Mandatory Insurer Reporting Technical Alert: CMS to Eliminate Seconds and Centiseconds from Time Stamp on Response Files

CMS is tweaking the naming conventions for Claim Response, TIN Response and Query Response files. For each Claim Input, TIN Reference and Query Input file an RRE submits, the BCRC produces a corresponding response file. When the BCRC generates a response file, the file name contains a date and timestamp. Effective 04/06/15, the time stamp will continue to reflect the hour and minute that the BCRC generates their response; however, the seconds and centiseconds portion of the time stamp will be replaced with a number from 0000 to 9999. This number will ensure that response file names are always unique. The 10/27/14 Alert can be accessed here.
