Erin O’Neil, Clinical Director, Presenting at the 2017 CSIA

Erin O’Neil, the Clinical Director, of MEDVAL’s Complex Claims Unit and Senior Managing Attorney will be speaking at the California Self-Insurers Association Employer Seminar and Annual Meeting and Conference on Tuesday, April 4.  Erin will be presenting on the topic of “Technological Advancements in Medicine and Their Impact on Medicare Set-Aside Proposals.”  There have been significant advances in all fields of medicine, and understanding these advancements and the impact they may have on a claim is key.  Many of these advancements are further gaining popularity as the technology becomes available at an increasing numbers of hospitals across the country.  We have begun to see the impact, particularly in inclusion of these advancements in MSAs.  Erin will be providing guidance on this topic and where the future of MSAs is headed. As an Attorney and former Physician Assistant, Erin brings over 20 years of a unique combination of medical and legal experience to the Medicare Set-Aside arena on behalf of MEDVAL’s clients. Prior to becoming an attorney, Erin was a Physician Assistant-Clinical Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Orthopedic Surgery.

Erin is admitted to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Bar Association, Allegheny County Bar Association, American Academy of Physician Assistants and Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants. She has served as an adjunct instructor for the Duquesne University Physician Assistant Program. Erin regularly speaks at industry and educational events nationally.
