CMS Compliance Manager/Staff Attorney
As the CMS Compliance Manager and an attorney at MEDVAL, Jean oversees the CMS department and ensures submissions of Medicare Set-Aside allocations are in compliance with CMS’ requirements and current policies in order to achieve the most timely and favorable outcomes for our clients. Jean further acts as a liaison between CMS and clients to obtain timely approvals, while monitoring the ever-changing policies and guidelines issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, as related to Medicare Set-Aside recommendations.
Prior to joining MEDVAL, Jean worked in in the public sector, at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, assisting public entities with their litigation and diverse legal needs. Jean has also worked in the private sector and practice of law, focusing on litigation, estate planning and administration. Jean has extensive experience in the areas of medical malpractice, civil litigation, and hearings before administrative boards and agencies.
Jean earned a Bachelor of Arts from Goucher College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law. She is admitted to the Maryland Bar.
