It has certainly been a busy week for Medicare Secondary Payer news.  Aside from a updated Worker’s Compensation Medicare Set-Aside reference guide being issued, there has also been an updated Medicare Secondary Payer Recovery Portal (MSPRP) User Guide and an updated MMSEA Section 111 NGHP User Guide issued.

We have addressed many of the revisions found within the updated MSPRP user guide through some of our very recent blog posts.  The most significant updates to the updated MSPRP guide explain the process of reporting a case on behalf of a beneficiary or an insurer (Chapter 13) and the new Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) registration process (Chapter 13).

The most significant updates to the Section 111 NGHP User Guide are as follows:

  • Chapter III, Policy Guidance:
    • Reflects the 2019 threshold for all non-group health plans, which remains at $750, as we reported here on our blog.
  • Chapter V, Appendices:
    • Clarifies the definition of “Funding Delayed Beyond TPOC Start Date;” and
    • Provides the excluded ICD-9 and ICD-10 tables in the appendices which matches the excluded lists that are available through the Section 111 MRA application.

Please feel free to reach out to a member of our team if we can provide any additional information or answer any questions about CMS’ recently issued guidance.
